Wow! today sure was some day!

Started with the joy of waking up at 4.30, oh how I love early mornings..NOT! Well, traffic at least was ok and for once I had remembered to bring phonenumber to the two childcareplaces we pick school’s childcare kids from. Only a kid on one place and since i called he was ready to go when i got there. Once in place I only ended up with 3 kids that i sent down for breakfast that school-chief is responsible for. This..was promising to be a niiice calm morning! Let’s say.. I REALLY shouldn’t have thought that..Heard the expression famous last words..?

Handyman came by for a chat when.. *BEEPbeepBEEP* Shiiit! The firealarm! No older students that could be doing mischief and doors locked except those i used.. this could be for real! Ran down to school-restaurant, got the kids out fast (don’t care if you got no shoes, ground is dry!) got them out Through closest door (the one only able to open from inside), checked and no flames so i placed a stone holding door a bit open and waited while prepared to move.. Kids took it fairly well, if even a bit wired up and to make sure they didn’t panic i spun them (on joke and they knew it) a story about easterwitch doing mischief, fun they thought!

Remembered that door into childcare was unlocked and started to worry that some of the kids I expected would drop in so when I got sight on a parent on way to leave her kid i yelled for her and asked her to check so no one was waiting outside. Almost directly the firetruck arrived and I told the firemen what few persons I knew was in school that early and asked them to check that no one had come in since I was after all expecting more students. So, there I stood with my now 5 kids, 6-years all, that thought that firetruck and firemen was soo cool, almost a fun morning! LOL Luckerly enough it was a false alarm so we could go back in. Just wished that one of the firemen hadn’t joked with kids and told them to play mischief with teacher.. Yes mr, you’re 2 m long and goodlooking but..that gives you no forgivness, they are 6 years old, they come up with enough of such ideas on their own and need no encouragement from a hero! LOL Oh well, kids loved it and I guess It was to make kids feel ok :-)

Later more coworkers arrived and the big “paint kiddies faces for Maundy Thursday” began until it was time for lunch. The others got the kids away and that.. was my clue to.. get ready to turn into acting an easter witch to visit kids with story that would get them on treasure-hunt for the easter-egg! Very exciting and kids loved that I truly played the role of slightly evil witch with a spun story, connected to fieldtrip on tuesday, about what witch Petronella had done with Linda and a funny one about it being witch-friend Agda that had started alarm to steal kids breakfast, impossible woman there! So..egg got found, candy was given and when Linda returned a story about how i escaped was told. And yes, we got another false alarm but this time we knew about broken alarmthing and how to stop firemen after we had checked.

Now.. it was time for me to leave.. for..easter food, wine and candyshopping, on a Maundy Thursday.. what a NOT timed well day to shop.. Everyone was getting stuff for easter so yes, it took some time to say the least.. Decided I would not allow me to get stressed and thereby got some ideas from other not stressed ones and ended up with greek-inspired tapas and lots of other yummys for food. Must say it was more than expected not stressed ones but we still where in clear minority. Talking about the stressed ones.. Hehe.. do you know how mad you can drive such mad if you walk and give them serence smiles while looking sooo relaxed.. Yes, I know, almost evil LOL!

Once home I managed to break BOTH paperbags but there are angels out there, a man on a stoll saw it and helped me carry in arm so i got them to my door, sweet angel! :-) )

Traditional swedish meatballs as I as swede grow up with :-)

Simple, ordinary, good! Traditional meatballs that taste great and are easy to build.
You need :

The recipe is for 4 people.

* 200 grams minced pork
* 300 grams ground beef
* ½ cup bread crumbs or crumbled bread
* ½ onion (2 tablespoons finely chopped onion)
* 1 cup milk
* 1 egg
* About 1 teaspoon salt
* White pepper

Follow these steps:

30-40 pieces

Mix the milk with the breadcrumbs and let soak a few minutes. Peel and finely chop the onion. Put all the ingredients in a bowl and stir into a smooth batter. You may allow the batter to stand and rest a while before you handle it.

Roll into round balls and place on a platter or cutting board. Wet your hands to make it easier to roll the buns.

Fry them in butter / margarine into a large skillet. Start by frying at medium temperature and then lower to low heat and allow the buns to be completely done. Time depends on the size of the buns. But at slightly lower heat, it usually takes 50-10 minutes to cook.

Serve with classic mashed potatoes, gravy and lingonberries. Or with with pasta, salad and grated cheese. Or why not make a meatball sandwich?

A day up north..

Linda wanna build

Started by for once waking up pretty early. Well, that is if a dishwasher-stiff, halfopened eyes and zoombie-awarense can be called awake :-/ But, that me in mornings and after surviving climbing down from bunkbed at roof without breaking any legs or ripping off any female attributes I wobbled down to the big cabin for coffee, enjoying foot bridge and not getting wet feets, niiiice!

Well, enjoying until the halfzombie, wholestiff being went down the step.. *crunch!* Think i just stepped over a cliffsend and made powder of legs..We must have been reaaallly sick of building for me to accept such high steps! *doh*

Grumled over it, drunk some coffe while considering how to change that and got my eyes on wood left and decided that i was a big girl now, know how it could be made and saved by metod, ugly but fast! Started drawing, building with pieces of wood etch to see how i wanted it etch and had a generally blast doing it! Perhaps this could be made before lunch and then picking up relatives for goecashing? Yepp, I AM optimistic/unrealistic *lol*

So, plan was made and tested without any broken legs so it must be alright, didn’t it? All I needed now now was for Anders to wake up so i could start without waking him up. Isn’t he up yet? Drunk some coffee and considered letting him waking up with one cup without building-noice. Isn’t he up yet?  changed and retried plan, isn’t he up yet? He got up 2 minuts after i started considering at leas sawing so forget a calm cup of coffee!

well, at least I didn’t demand him to work. Started building and after some coffee Anders realised it wasn’t pretty (hey! 2 weeks ago i got a confused look if holding a hammer, what do you expect! *lol*) and had me rebuild. Oki..much better looking and so on but also muuuuch longer time doing.. Of cause we where not finished in time for lunch and picking up relatives!

“Treasure hunting” and finding such a sweet heart-warming gift!

Managed to get to relatives, my oncle with his wife and their 12 year old son, in time and off we went! First cash was on an old skimpy grovel road that made me worried it would work with our car. Turned out to be a totally unknowed without sighn from road historical landmark from invasion by the russians in 1809! Cool! A bit odd cash also, was in a fake birdhouse!

Off again and driving round until we got a a tiiiny grovel road from which we had a steep long hike over boulders until we got to it. Was a bit hard to find since koordinated where wrong but found it and it sure was worth it since the view from up there was amazing! And OMG!! The treasure was the sweetest, most heatwarming one could find! Maker of it had made some gifts for the first ones finding it with the cutest note! (se at end) Sure was a bit envious over coisine that got it but was his first so i was happy to let him.

Cooffee and cake and off to next another walk from there. This time Anders went ahead with coisine since the boy had started to grumle of him not finding any and now would get a headstart. Not that it was hard to get ahead since the rest of us truly took chance of putting blueberrys in mouth and just had to stop for awhile when finding some wild rasberrybushes, yummy! And yes, Kid was helped to “find it on his own..” And guess what that one also containded!? Yepp! Another gift with same note! Oki, now i really wanted it so i convinced (read begged) coisine to sacrifice (off cause he will get something in returnlater) a thing to exchange so i also got one.

The note on gift said :

“This is a very special gift, that you can never see.

The reason it’s so special, is it’s just for you from me.

Whenever you are lonely, or even feeling blue.

You only have to hold this gift and know i think of you.

You never can unwrap it, please leave the ribbon tied.

Just hold the box close to your heart,

it’s filled with with love inside.”

Purpose: Refresh-dive, time since last dive was for me since last year and two years ago since for Anders
Package & Weight: 10 L 232 and 10 kg, which went to 8 kg at 110 bar
Weather & Viz: Mostly sunny, 5m / s-sw & s 3-6 m viz
Pers.Form: 70-fat & untrained * lol *
Cal: Summerundersuit, drygloves with nothing under, thin + trekking socks, t-shirt, bicycle shorts, no cap, drysuit
Time: 18:26 to 19:04 = 38 min
Bar: 195-110 = 86 bar slurped
Deep / average deph : 7.6 m / 6.1 m
SAC: 13:89, not bad for me!

It felt really ok, ok surprised at considering how little I’ve dived these last few years! Trim was nice but I fussed a bit with boyancy due to to much weight on belt and..part to little dived also ;-/. How darn hard it was to guess the weight I would have when it seems that if I change my weight to the bottle every time according to logbook! Hmm, typing form & weight and more precisely what I have on me would maybe be an idea to make regular assessments easier …

I saw some small blue starfish, a submerged stone to fasten boats in on sand out & a bit to the righ right from the bridge, many fine shells, stickleback, pipefish, goldsinnys, possibly a medium sized Ballan wrasse, goby, a mask that was a bit shaggy & red in the middle and bald and golden on the sides? ? Green crab and a crab sittin in/on a jellyfish that it ate, looked pretty fun out when the crab was far smaller than jellyfish! * Lol *

Thermocline layer today was pretty cool disorienting, as liquid cooking oil in the water, also gave an odd illusion  how the stone-pier looked like. Pretty cool, especially when a giant schools of sticklebacks swam in it!

What was good was that the left side of floating bridge now was as made for me to go in and out and take on the fins for short me, nice! Yes, and that for once to silt sliiiightly less than Anders was not bad for sense of confidence either, especially since it’s almost always the other way around * lol *
Less pleasant was that there now drove jet-ski’s in the bay which definitely makes a diveflag and bag/marker?? up for the next dive for safety. That is, unless jetskiers will find such fun to round, heared they use those for such in other places :-/

A really nice dive and dear lord so nice it was be able to afford to pressure test tubes and to be able to get into the water again!

Weee!

Today my homan did something strange, picked me up but didn’t let me down on floor to run or in tube to eat but put me in a tight travel-thingie with emergency water! First I was a bit scared but then i remembered, she’d promised me to go out in the world! First we must have flown since it was noice and moving down and then i got a bumpy ride, guess on a camel or an elephant judging from movement.

Finally part of “thingie-travel” was over and i could start my walk/run around the earth! Started on a plain of deep rolling fresh grass, could have been France from pics I’ve seen. Why I was unsure and didn’t ask my homan? Ehm, Let’s just say I love her (shrimpgiving & spoiling ability) but she totally lacks what so ever idea of where she is most of the time… I did raise my head and looked everywhere but couldn’t find Amle anywhere (guess she was busy dancing in kitchen) so with no one to direct me to where the cute french guys where I continiued…

I walked and walked and came to an sandy cancrete, asphalt and high building surrounded area where the sun shone merciless and since I after a while ended up in the Sahara desert I guess it was some big city in southeast europe. Well, anyhow did I spend yoite some time trying to get out of Sahara desert, climded sand-dunes and so on, until my homan found me and flew me away!

Landed on a better place, a huge flat area of green and brownburned grass, must have been Texas since it looked just as in westernmovies I’ve seen! Walked around there for a while, searching for SteveBob but when i couldn’t find him I climbed some mountain (found the whisky with sign of where to go but no Pam) to get to a pass north in hope of seeing some of my other USA-living friends but none was In! What’s up with people! Do they still keep up with working after all lessons I’ve given them about how to enjoy life!?

Flew and then took the highway to a place with softly rolling hills filled with flowes and orderly bushes around, must have been the UK. walked around there for a bit in hope of finding sweet Bev, gina or Solman but no… Ok… Noone is out, even though sun is shining really summerwarm and gentle breezes wispers. I know! I’m In the UK so let’s try find Cowboy Simon and this time, let’s try his work! ran along the big road like crazy so it wouldn’t be to late in the day. Got there in time and entered the stone/rock place with its barn-like building, seached everywhere but no Simon! Well that can only mean 2 things… either he’s taken a welldeserved “slacker (well, he wasn’t in feeding me was he..? *lol) out in the country ride” or the more belivable, was out wipping in new workers that actually would work!

After that i roamed around all over Europe, only stopping here and there to get admired, tech and thereby train “turtle-slaves to be”. One does have some obligations against the future generation after all! So.. after doing my duty, seached the whole world after my & Linda’s driend in vain i finally gave up and flow home to lay floating in water and nap!

Where Linda’s been, hiding from you all all day? Well, her i started off by sending her out on all chores (doing dishes, getting food to house, fixing paper so she can get money to buy me stuff and getting divebottles to keep her less cranky) needed doing before she serviced me in my travels. I mean, stuff have to be done and…I’m waaaay to smart to work so… *lol’

Well, some naggings/invitations are only fun to get and i’ve been tagged by astrid at Plurk to write a book memo (it probably contains some spellingmistakes and grammar-faulths but that I blaim on english’s not my first language and language isn’t my passion to learn easy), fun, fun! But, I apologise before if the answers may be simular, i do seem to have a certain tendency to be somewhat single-minded when I’ve found something I like.. Well, it’s actually those wonderful writers fault since they have the good taste of keep giving out books in my series so in a way I’m completly innocent!

And and as you’ll notice I’ve put quite some number of questions together since they in my answers is tagged together.

Oh, and Plurkers kd9, Balp and writergirlk, you are hereby tagged to write your book memo!

1 – The book you are reading at the moment.

Jennifer Scales and the messanger of light by MaryJanice Davidson & Anthony Alongi.
It’s the second book in the jennifer Scales-fantasy bookserie. It’s a serie about a 14 year old girl that learns that she’s both were-dragon and light-knight, not an easy combination when those 2 species are mortal enemys and you have to hide stuff from both sides and the unknowing normal mortals and being an ordinary hot-tempred teen doesn’t exactly help either.. Laughting-fun easy reading!

2 – Next book you will read or want to read &  12 – A book you have been recommended by a friend or acquaintance & 10 – A book by your favourite writer.

Next book in every fantast book-serie I’m following, Like:
- Laurell K. Hamiltons vampire & werewolf serie and her farie-prinsess serie
- Patricia Briggs two werewolfe series, Mercy Thomson and Alpha & Omega.
- David Webers serie of Bahzell, that keeps the wargod that’s nagged him to be his knight huble, hillarious!
- Dark jewels serie of Anne Bishop

and the serie about a diving detective i’ve been recomended, the serie of “An Underwater Investigation”

3 – Your favourite book.

Favorite!? You gotta be kidding, I love most of my books, how could i choose!?
(se above)
- The mercy Thomson serie since she’s strong but not perfect and hillarious when she realise “This will be trouble..” and does it anyhow!
- The dark jewels serie with it’s sharper and darker humour and strong passionated leading persons with their darker sides.
- By David Eddings The Belgariad, The Malloreon, The Elenium, The Tamuli

4 – Your most hated book &  28 – Thank God they made a film from this book!

Fellowship of the ring. Everyone keep talking about it, telling it took a while to get into and i realised from what they’ve said I would love it but it just kept dragging on, drowning in details and being soooo slooooow! Have I mention that I start judging a book after 10 pagest and put it aside if I’m not caught up in it after 50 pages? Anyone read those books then realise what it meant for me when determend to read it.. Only book I’ve ever though worked way better as a movie!

5 – A book you could read again and again.

Anyone of my favorite series named in question 2. I did say I was a bit singleminded, didn’t I.. *lol*

6 – A book you have been able to read only once (whether you liked it or not)  &   11 – A book you loved the first time you read it but you can’t stand now.

Never happend. Either I like a book enough to re-read it or it’s gone forever before i’ve finished it. Yepp, black or white, that’s me as a reader! On the other hand does it make me a person to garantied to be honest if someone ask me about writing, i just can’t lie politely and belivable about such!

7 – A book that reminds you of someone  &   8 – A book that reminds you of somewhere.

Has passed it on to others so I don’t remember title or author but it was a criminal novel about a couple of cops solving old murder up north, a bit from my hometown and close to where a now lost friend came from and all in it reminded me of Johnny somehow. and, of cause, gave me a bit of homesickness to go back north ;-)

9 – First book you ever read.

Ehm.. I was 7..I’m 38 now and I’ve never had any memory to speak of so i really have no idea, especially since I had read about 2000 book by the time was 10 I think.. But I do know that the first books i really wanted and collected was the kind Bill & Ben westerns, even if I doubth those where my first books.

13 – A book that makes you laugh.

Well, most series already named have lots of houmor in them but one standing out was one off Eddings books in Belgariad or malloreon where here ask mischivious thif-hero what happend to bad guy and thief answers (not perfect citated) “Last I saw him he tried to learn how to fly..”
Hero “Did he manage?”
Thief, looking of castlewall “Does bouncing count?…”

Oh, and also “paint your dragon” by Tom Holt gets me howling in laughter!

14 – A book from your childhood  &   26 – A book you’d read to your kids.

As always when i don’t have the book in front of me to help i don’t remember title or authour but it was a book about a indonesian boy getting lost on a lonely island. Se! I have read other than fantasy or criminal novels once upon a time! Got this book from an book-reviewing journalist relative and it’s forever in my heart.

15 – The fourth book counting from the left in your shelf   &    16 – The ninth book counting from the right in your shelf.

Ehm, I got 7 book-cabinets overpacket with books, 2 with only 2 shelfs and 5 with 5-7 shelfs (hubby now and then complains of living in a libary by some funny reason..?) so wich cabinet & shelf to choose.. Oh, and place of where books end up is forever changing since I sure ain’t got the soul of a liberian, I just love books!
*rolls a dice to choose what cabinet and what shelf*

The fourth book : Treason Keep in the Hythrun chroncles by Jennifer Fallon

The ninth book nr 12 in Ljusets rike (The Legend of the Realm of Light) by Margit Sandemo

17 – Close your eyes and pick up a random book from your shelf.

Coosed another cabinet for change and..Oh, a book from my Harlequin Historic period!
Riddare i nöden (sweet song of love) by Merline Lovelance

Who the heck does translate titles into swedish! I mean, if I did a (bad i guess) translation sweet song of love became knight in the distress in swedish title! Almost the same..or..? :-/

18 – The book with the prettiest cover you own.

Don’t take it as I’m angry over the question but… Eh.. I’m suppost to throw more than a seconds look at cover..? I never for a second though if any of my covers where pretty and i have no intention of looking throw my 100:ds books to decide. Oh and by the way, I tend to like violent books so..pretty probably isn’t what my covers are anyhow ;-)

19 – A book you have always wanted to read.

Let’s say that books are my drugs and.. If i want it i get it sooner or later so no book have time to get in that category.

20 – The best book of all the compulsory readings you had to do at school & 21 – The worst book of all the compulsory readings you had to do at school.

Can’t answer due to opressed that horrible period of going throw 140 authors so heavy and depresseve boring reading in 2 weeks time.

22 – The book in your shelf with the higher number of pages.

Täcknamn Rainbow (Rainbow Six) by Tom Clancy with it’s 788 pages. A book with under 200 pages is hardly worth reading in my opinion.

23 – The book in your shelf with the smaller number of pages.

And here comes the only thin book I’ve ever found worthy, even with only 94 pages (wish they where more..way to little)!

“Blackford’s diving life and times” by Andy Blackford.

He writes in a hillarious funny and often parodysing (can’t spell that word, ok) way and pictures are so funny and right on spot!
Don’t remember if I got it from him when I met him (a really nice bloke) on a dive-weekend in UK (got something at least) or if it was found in one of many bookrazzias by me and hubby.

24 – A book no one would think you’ve read.

En hacker i systemet (The Cuckoo’s Egg) by Clifford Stoll.

A true story of what happend when a computorgeeky astronome starts fanatic trying to find out who’s the hacker stealing from the system is.
Yes, this is geek-book and as a “I wanna play, fix it for me” person this techie stuff ought have gotten me running but somehow he manage to write so I understood the most (asked hubby a bit also) and get caught up, unable to let go of it, sometimes giggling, sometimes holding my breath.

25 – A book which main character defines you.

Can’t think of one really fitting.

27 – A book which main character fits your “ideal”.

Perhaps Briggs Mercy Thomson? Strong, independent, humourus, mischievious and still human enough to not be perfect..

29 – Why on Earth did they have to make a film from this book?

Queen of the damned (from Ann Rice vampyre-serie) The first film based on the serie was wonderful but this..was beond bad!

A post for Feline friday.

When i was really young, I guess around 3 years old, my grans got a cat, an adopted old fat farm cat that I got name. And, what creteria does a 3 year old have for naming a cat she loves since the is smart (and lazy) enough to allow endless patting in exchange for shamless feeding under table and a willing slave? Well, off cause the name will have to be something I loved and..considering my age, what i loved was 2 serie-figures from that time in the only childshow tv had on it’s 2 channels, “Drutten och Krokodilen” so Drutten och Krokodilen It was named! Ok, some headshakes was done over the name but promised was promised and that it was, well, at least while i listened.. I’m pretty sure I had a proper name also but hey! I was 3 and it came to me every time I called that name! Well, as I said I was a clever cat and what cat wouldn’t come to be feed all that yummy stuff it wasn’t allowed in exchange for some soft patting from a “well-train human”? *lol*

That cat had the habit to follow me around (knew from whom goodies came) everywhere, including down the stairs. But, by some funny reason the cat never was capable to go up the stairs but ended standing at bottom, mewoing heartbreaking? And yes, I fell for it every time, no matter how the heartless adult told me it would get up on it’s own, and huffing and puffing carried the cat up, every single time… Now as adult I off cause understand that the cat was fully capable of going upstairs also and was just plain lazy, using me as elevator but whenever I think of cats I got a seconds flash of that adorable old fat cat, carried by me upstairs..

But..as it was as kind to stupidity as it was lazy also since my second memory is from me just had a talk from dentist in childcare about importance of brushing teeth and decided to help the poor cat doing that when i found out it didn’t get teeth brushed.. Poor thing just screamed and wiggled but didn’t even then scratch me. I did though run fast after adults saved it..
