Well, some naggings/invitations are only fun to get and i’ve been tagged by astrid at Plurk to write a book memo (it probably contains some spellingmistakes and grammar-faulths but that I blaim on english’s not my first language and language isn’t my passion to learn easy), fun, fun! But, I apologise before if the answers may be simular, i do seem to have a certain tendency to be somewhat single-minded when I’ve found something I like.. Well, it’s actually those wonderful writers fault since they have the good taste of keep giving out books in my series so in a way I’m completly innocent!
And and as you’ll notice I’ve put quite some number of questions together since they in my answers is tagged together.
Oh, and Plurkers kd9, Balp and writergirlk, you are hereby tagged to write your book memo!
1 – The book you are reading at the moment.
Jennifer Scales and the messanger of light by MaryJanice Davidson & Anthony Alongi.
It’s the second book in the jennifer Scales-fantasy bookserie. It’s a serie about a 14 year old girl that learns that she’s both were-dragon and light-knight, not an easy combination when those 2 species are mortal enemys and you have to hide stuff from both sides and the unknowing normal mortals and being an ordinary hot-tempred teen doesn’t exactly help either.. Laughting-fun easy reading!
2 – Next book you will read or want to read & 12 – A book you have been recommended by a friend or acquaintance & 10 – A book by your favourite writer.
Next book in every fantast book-serie I’m following, Like:
- Laurell K. Hamiltons vampire & werewolf serie and her farie-prinsess serie
- Patricia Briggs two werewolfe series, Mercy Thomson and Alpha & Omega.
- David Webers serie of Bahzell, that keeps the wargod that’s nagged him to be his knight huble, hillarious!
- Dark jewels serie of Anne Bishop
and the serie about a diving detective i’ve been recomended, the serie of “An Underwater Investigation”
3 – Your favourite book.
Favorite!? You gotta be kidding, I love most of my books, how could i choose!?
(se above)
- The mercy Thomson serie since she’s strong but not perfect and hillarious when she realise “This will be trouble..” and does it anyhow!
- The dark jewels serie with it’s sharper and darker humour and strong passionated leading persons with their darker sides.
- By David Eddings The Belgariad, The Malloreon, The Elenium, The Tamuli
4 – Your most hated book & 28 – Thank God they made a film from this book!
Fellowship of the ring. Everyone keep talking about it, telling it took a while to get into and i realised from what they’ve said I would love it but it just kept dragging on, drowning in details and being soooo slooooow! Have I mention that I start judging a book after 10 pagest and put it aside if I’m not caught up in it after 50 pages? Anyone read those books then realise what it meant for me when determend to read it.. Only book I’ve ever though worked way better as a movie!
5 – A book you could read again and again.
Anyone of my favorite series named in question 2. I did say I was a bit singleminded, didn’t I.. *lol*
6 – A book you have been able to read only once (whether you liked it or not) & 11 – A book you loved the first time you read it but you can’t stand now.
Never happend. Either I like a book enough to re-read it or it’s gone forever before i’ve finished it. Yepp, black or white, that’s me as a reader! On the other hand does it make me a person to garantied to be honest if someone ask me about writing, i just can’t lie politely and belivable about such!
7 – A book that reminds you of someone & 8 – A book that reminds you of somewhere.
Has passed it on to others so I don’t remember title or author but it was a criminal novel about a couple of cops solving old murder up north, a bit from my hometown and close to where a now lost friend came from and all in it reminded me of Johnny somehow. and, of cause, gave me a bit of homesickness to go back north
9 – First book you ever read.
Ehm.. I was 7..I’m 38 now and I’ve never had any memory to speak of so i really have no idea, especially since I had read about 2000 book by the time was 10 I think.. But I do know that the first books i really wanted and collected was the kind Bill & Ben westerns, even if I doubth those where my first books.
13 – A book that makes you laugh.
Well, most series already named have lots of houmor in them but one standing out was one off Eddings books in Belgariad or malloreon where here ask mischivious thif-hero what happend to bad guy and thief answers (not perfect citated) “Last I saw him he tried to learn how to fly..”
Hero “Did he manage?”
Thief, looking of castlewall “Does bouncing count?…”
Oh, and also “paint your dragon” by Tom Holt gets me howling in laughter!
14 – A book from your childhood & 26 – A book you’d read to your kids.
As always when i don’t have the book in front of me to help i don’t remember title or authour but it was a book about a indonesian boy getting lost on a lonely island. Se! I have read other than fantasy or criminal novels once upon a time! Got this book from an book-reviewing journalist relative and it’s forever in my heart.
15 – The fourth book counting from the left in your shelf & 16 – The ninth book counting from the right in your shelf.
Ehm, I got 7 book-cabinets overpacket with books, 2 with only 2 shelfs and 5 with 5-7 shelfs (hubby now and then complains of living in a libary by some funny reason..?) so wich cabinet & shelf to choose.. Oh, and place of where books end up is forever changing since I sure ain’t got the soul of a liberian, I just love books!
*rolls a dice to choose what cabinet and what shelf*
The fourth book : Treason Keep in the Hythrun chroncles by Jennifer Fallon
The ninth book nr 12 in Ljusets rike (The Legend of the Realm of Light) by Margit Sandemo
17 – Close your eyes and pick up a random book from your shelf.
Coosed another cabinet for change and..Oh, a book from my Harlequin Historic period!
Riddare i nöden (sweet song of love) by Merline Lovelance
Who the heck does translate titles into swedish! I mean, if I did a (bad i guess) translation sweet song of love became knight in the distress in swedish title! Almost the same..or..? :-/
18 – The book with the prettiest cover you own.
Don’t take it as I’m angry over the question but… Eh.. I’m suppost to throw more than a seconds look at cover..? I never for a second though if any of my covers where pretty and i have no intention of looking throw my 100:ds books to decide. Oh and by the way, I tend to like violent books so..pretty probably isn’t what my covers are anyhow
19 – A book you have always wanted to read.
Let’s say that books are my drugs and.. If i want it i get it sooner or later so no book have time to get in that category.
20 – The best book of all the compulsory readings you had to do at school & 21 – The worst book of all the compulsory readings you had to do at school.
Can’t answer due to opressed that horrible period of going throw 140 authors so heavy and depresseve boring reading in 2 weeks time.
22 – The book in your shelf with the higher number of pages.
Täcknamn Rainbow (Rainbow Six) by Tom Clancy with it’s 788 pages. A book with under 200 pages is hardly worth reading in my opinion.
23 – The book in your shelf with the smaller number of pages.
And here comes the only thin book I’ve ever found worthy, even with only 94 pages (wish they where more..way to little)!
“Blackford’s diving life and times” by Andy Blackford.
He writes in a hillarious funny and often parodysing (can’t spell that word, ok) way and pictures are so funny and right on spot!
Don’t remember if I got it from him when I met him (a really nice bloke) on a dive-weekend in UK (got something at least) or if it was found in one of many bookrazzias by me and hubby.
24 – A book no one would think you’ve read.
En hacker i systemet (The Cuckoo’s Egg) by Clifford Stoll.
A true story of what happend when a computorgeeky astronome starts fanatic trying to find out who’s the hacker stealing from the system is.
Yes, this is geek-book and as a “I wanna play, fix it for me” person this techie stuff ought have gotten me running but somehow he manage to write so I understood the most (asked hubby a bit also) and get caught up, unable to let go of it, sometimes giggling, sometimes holding my breath.
25 – A book which main character defines you.
Can’t think of one really fitting.
27 – A book which main character fits your “ideal”.
Perhaps Briggs Mercy Thomson? Strong, independent, humourus, mischievious and still human enough to not be perfect..
29 – Why on Earth did they have to make a film from this book?
Queen of the damned (from Ann Rice vampyre-serie) The first film based on the serie was wonderful but this..was beond bad!

Cool! Thanks for sharing!
It certainly gave me one or the other idea …
Ohh Noooo!!!! Great read thou.
Jag läste The Belgariad för massa år sedan, har den fått så många “uppföljar”-serier? Eller är det andra serier av samma författare?
Kul att läsa om dina läsvanor!
Jenny
