A post for Feline friday.

When i was really young, I guess around 3 years old, my grans got a cat, an adopted old fat farm cat that I got name. And, what creteria does a 3 year old have for naming a cat she loves since the is smart (and lazy) enough to allow endless patting in exchange for shamless feeding under table and a willing slave? Well, off cause the name will have to be something I loved and..considering my age, what i loved was 2 serie-figures from that time in the only childshow tv had on it’s 2 channels, “Drutten och Krokodilen” so Drutten och Krokodilen It was named! Ok, some headshakes was done over the name but promised was promised and that it was, well, at least while i listened.. I’m pretty sure I had a proper name also but hey! I was 3 and it came to me every time I called that name! Well, as I said I was a clever cat and what cat wouldn’t come to be feed all that yummy stuff it wasn’t allowed in exchange for some soft patting from a “well-train human”? *lol*

That cat had the habit to follow me around (knew from whom goodies came) everywhere, including down the stairs. But, by some funny reason the cat never was capable to go up the stairs but ended standing at bottom, mewoing heartbreaking? And yes, I fell for it every time, no matter how the heartless adult told me it would get up on it’s own, and huffing and puffing carried the cat up, every single time… Now as adult I off cause understand that the cat was fully capable of going upstairs also and was just plain lazy, using me as elevator but whenever I think of cats I got a seconds flash of that adorable old fat cat, carried by me upstairs..

But..as it was as kind to stupidity as it was lazy also since my second memory is from me just had a talk from dentist in childcare about importance of brushing teeth and decided to help the poor cat doing that when i found out it didn’t get teeth brushed.. Poor thing just screamed and wiggled but didn’t even then scratch me. I did though run fast after adults saved it..

I was into dogs when I was young.we once had a dog ,but it got lost eventually..it’s heartbreaking…I don’t dare to have any pets since then…however, it’s amazing that sometimes the memory could be so vivid… :) thanks for sharing.

  4. What a wonderful memory!

Kitty does that ‘elevator’ thing, and even as an adult I always fall for it – how could I not?!
